Drew L.
Orton, 77, of 624 S. 3rd St., Colona, went to be by his
beloved Lord from his sleep in his own home on Tuesday, Dec. 16,
2003.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday
at Family Funeral Services, Colona. Burial will be in Greenview
Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m.
Thursday. Memorials may be made to the family.
Drew was born July 21, 1926, in
Burlington, Iowa, son of Drew L.
Orton Sr. and Meta Bohlken
Orton. He married Mary L. Gebhardt Feb. 10, 1951, in
Monmouth, Ill.
He was a World War II Army Air
Forces veteran. He was a floor mechanic, installer and salesman
most of his life.
He was a member of First Southern
Baptist Church, Colona.
Survivors include his wife, Mary;
daughters and spouses, Lynne and Reuben Martel, East Moline,
Diane and Mark Kitto, Davenport; sons and spouse, Ron
Orton, Orlando, Fla., Matt and
Diana Orton, Moline; seven
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. |

Mary Orton, 77, of Colona, died
Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice, Bettendorf.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday
at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens,
East Moline. Visitation is 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born Oct. 16, 1930,
in Burlington, Iowa, daughter of Leverett and Edith Dunham Gebhardt. She
married Drew L. Orton on Feb. 10, 1951, in Monmouth. He preceded her in
death Dec. 16, 2003.
Mary worked at Kmart,
retiring in 1992. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church,
Colona, where she worked in the kitchen. She also enjoyed reading,
painting and made awesome brownies.
Survivors (and their
spouses) are her daughters, Lynne (Reuben) Martel, East Moline, and
Diane (Mark) Kitto, Davenport; sons, Ron Orton, Orlando, Fla., and Matt
(Diana) Orton, Colona; grandchildren, Renee, Carrie, Steven, Tiffany
Nicholas, Elizabeth, Amber and Logan; great-grandchildren, Micah, Austyn,
Quentin and Adyson; and a sister, Susan Fox, Davenport.
