Frederic L. Morgan, 69, of Rock Island died Thursday, Jan. 8,
2004, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly
Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at
the funeral home where services will be held at 6 p.m. by IOOF
Pilot Lodge 38 and Eureka Masonic Lodge 69 AF&AM. Burial will be
in Roselawn Memorial Estates, Moline, with military rites
conducted by American Legion Post 569/200 and VFW Post 1303. A
memorial fund will be established by the family for a tree to
planted at Sunset Park in his memory.
Mr. Morgan was born Jan. 14, 1934, in Monmouth, the son of
Frederick and Jennie Fischel Morgan. He married Margaret Jane
Smith Dec. 17, 1955, in Abingdon, Ill.
Frederic worked at John Deere Harvester East Moline Works as an
assembler and repairman for 31 years before retiring, along with
being an Army veteran. He was past master of the Rock Island
Masonic Lodge 658 AF&AM and Milan Eureka Lodge 69 AF&AM. He was
also Past Nobel at IOOF Pilot Lodge 38, LeClaire. He was a
member of the Zal Grotto, Moline, and retired member of UAW
Local 865.
Frederic loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed
watching movies and using his computer.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Jane; sons, John Morgan and
his wife Connie Baker, Rock Island, Larry Morgan and his wife
Michelle, Wilton, Iowa, and Jeff Morgan and Anna Maransky,
Moline; seven grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren;
sisters, Shirley Bush, Florida. and Judy Purnty, Des Moines,
Iowa. He was preceded by a grandson, three brothers and three
sisters.
